POPIA Policy
The Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA Act) aims to promote the protection of personal information processed by public and private bodies by, among others, introducing certain conditions for the lawful processing of personal information so as to establish minimum requirements for the processing of such information.
The Information Regulator (South Africa) is, among others, empowered to monitor and enforce compliance by public and private bodies with the provisions of the POPIA Act.
Our Policy:
Based on the mandatory implementation in South Africa of the POPIA Act as per the above, from 1 July 2021, Cobow(PTY)LTD t/a Albourne Boutique hereby confirms:
Only essential information such as IP addresses, type of devices used and geographic locations are stored for the sole purpose of Albourne Boutique understanding international and local trends and dynamics in improving our marketing abilities and services offered to our current and potential customers.
When contacting Albourne Boutique whether via a phone call, an email or the contact tab on our website or when making a direct booking via our reservations platform, all information submitted by our clients including clients name, email address, phone number, passport number, physical address and all or any financial details are used for our own records and needs only and no information is passed on to any other third-party without the clients consent or request for a service offered by said Third-party ie Car rental, restaurant reservations, activities etc. All information stored is done so using upated technology and software with stringent security protocols in place and Albourne Boutique does not store and financial details that may have been provided by a client.
Any third-parties that a client may use including OTA’s have their own POPIA Policy in place and based on our contractual agreements with such entities, Albourne Boutique takes no responsibility therein nor can we be held accountable therefore.
Data access and storage:
All our electronic equipment, where personal information is stored, is password-protected and only authorized staff have access to the information. If we have reason to believe that a data breach has occurred, we will report it both to you and to the Information Regulator of South Africa, as required by law.
